I have had migraines since I was 11. Many years of monthly migraines that landed on my cycle. Finally, at age 39 convinced my OB to take my ovarys out!!! That was done September 2008. I had 4 months of freedom and in January they started again. Blood work and an ultrasound showed that I have grown another ovary. I had a lupron shot 4 weeks ago and am getting another one soon. BUT... my labs show I dont have any estrogen anymore, and I am still getting these insane headaches. I have worked so hard to "figure out" all the components that go into and cause migraines and for so many years a huge factory has been estrogen and today I find out that I dont have any estrogen and I have headaches. Frustrating and starting over.

wow, i myself have been sufering with severe menstrual migraines for most of my life. now 33. and i am also certain they are hormone related. i am wanting to get the same operation. i am sick and tired of two weeks out of the month i am a prisoner of my own body.
A friend of mine had a full hysterectomy and has not had a migraine since. Another friend had just her ovaries removed and has had just a few migraines in the last 10 years. I had just my ovaries out, had 4 months of freedome and then had one in January and then every day since April 1st. I dont know!! I still am holding onto some faith that this is going to at least reduce my migraines to once every 3 months or something. Heck, I would take once a month again.-yes, it was 2 weeks out of every month, but not daily like I am doing now. Hot flash Heaven sister!!! I am not on any estrogen replacement-that seemed to be my evil. So for now, I am soaked all the time!!! Sleep with the fan and an ice pack on my head.
