My family doctor says that birth control pills can make a migraine worse. Now I have went to another doctor, an OBGYN, She put me on Mircette. I had a migraine when I started my period and then no more so far. My question is do many doctors use this as a treatment and does it work in the long run? I do feel alot better compared to the antidepressants my family docotor was putting me on and only one migraine my last cycle was great.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!
It's not uncommon to try different types of birth control pills if Migraines triggers are related to a woman's menstrual cycle. There's no single answer to whether they'll work though. They help some women, make things worse for others, and make no difference at all for some women. A great deal depends on the type and composition of the pills too.
