what next?

By jessica zendt Friday, February 29, 2008

I'm going to go to my first migraine specialist in June and need to find out about coverage from my insurance co. My question is does anyone have any advise about what questions to ask? I'm assuming from past experiences that I'll be given the run around first. I' need to have some questions or statements ahead of time so they don't think I'll back down when given a "No" for an answer. Thank you for any help.

What do you mean, questions for your insurance company?  Is the Migraine specialist "out of network?"

I would carefully read my health care policy and if need be contact your HR department for clarification.

I did a SharePost on this sort of thing that may help.  Migraine Disease and Insurance Companies

Let me know if you need more help, ok?

Nancy,

Currently my insurance co. doesn't have any migraine specialists listed as covered. So, Before I call to confront the issue I just wanted to be armed with some good responses to get what I need out of them. I've had problems with them before and don't like confrontation so I know I need to be prepared for a fight. Thank you for the idea of the HR department and if I need more help I'll definately let you know.

Thank you

Jess
