Hi I am new here and trying to figure out my way around the forum.  It looks lioke a very informative site.  I have been suffering from migraines for about 10 to 15 years.  It always happens on the ledt side of my head right behind my left eye.  I used to get these horrible menstrual migraines but then I had a hysterectomy for endometreosis and the menstrual migraines went away.  However I still get migraines.  Certain food give me migraines.  MSG and asparteme gives me migraines.

I just started on a new migraine drug, ZOMIG and I take it with a Naseau drug. It seems to wrok as long as I take it with the naseau drug.

Lights bother me when I have a migraine.

Over the years I have taken many drugs some work for a while and then  I have to try something new.  I have taken  naproxen, asprin, advil, midrin, topomax, maxalt and relpax.

Hi Alexa!

You and I seem to have similar migraines, and I too use to get them around my "time of the Month" and I had Endometriosis too.  I still had Migraines afterwards as well. I have heard of Zomeg but have not tried it.  I have tried all the others you listed too.  Topamax works for me Some of the time but I am currenlty seeing a Migraine Doctor that is switching my meds to try to help me.  I was up to like 4 differnet pills for Migraines a day and I have High Blood Pressure.  Just a little to much pill taking for me and I wanted to try to get to a better place as I was still having Migraines.  I have had them since 91 so I do know where you are coming from.

This site is really been great for me and I hope that you enjoy it as well.  I have "stumbled" upon valuable info on a daily basis so hang in there and enjoy just "looking" around.  Let me know if I can help!!!

Thanks Denise for the welcome.  I find that my blood pressure has gone up a little since I started on the  tripitans.  I used to take topomax it really got rid of the migraines but I found that it messed up my focus so I had to stop taking it.  I really have to watch what I eat because some foods bring migraines on.  WEven stron perfumy smells can start a migraine.

Hi Alexa -

I am new to the site also, so welcome fellow newbie :).  I too have endometriosis, and it was a double dose of Lupron that a physician accidentally gave me that caused a 'brain injury' type response with migranous features.  So, I have had constant 24/7 head pain for the last 13.5 years.  I have been on every med out there (except MAOI's), without relief.  Now, it's more about pain management - yet it isn't effective either.  Most of the time I am still in bed with ice packs covering my head, except for when I have a cluster - then I can't stand the cold.  Part of my current med mix includes 400mg of Topamax.  I noticed it was mentioned in another post.  It has horrible side effects and the typical therapeutic dose has been lowered from 200mg to 150mg.  I am unable to take triptans because it causes my heart to beat w/irregularity.  If you have any questions regarding meds or anything, please feel free to send me a message. Welcome to the site.  Excellent resources can be found here.  I hope that you find relief from this terrible disease.

Hugs,

Julie

I took Lupron too and I hated the way it made me feel but the Dr said it would get rid of my endo and of course it didnt.  While I was on the Lupron this is when I started getting weird headaches.  Come to think of it I do not recall getting migraines BEFORE i took the Lupron.Undecided

Hugs to you too.
