Hi,
I am new here and am was diagnosed with chronic daily migraine about a year or so ago...my migraines seem to be triggered mostly by changes in the weather (pressure) and I'm not sure what else. I'm on Topamax and Relpax and that's about it right now. Thankfully I have an appointment with a neurologist in late January that I have been waiting to see for about 4 months now so I'm hoping he can alleviate the constant pain and suffering. I pretty much feel like I have one huge, neverending migraine with no rest in between except for an hour here or there. At those times I don't want to move my head because it might creep back and it feels euphoric when I don't feel the pounding.
Mainly I'm just interested in what other remedies are out there that others have found helpful. I'm especially interested in muscle relaxants as alot of my migraines seem to stem from the tension in my back and neck as well as the weather (which can't be helped I know).
I'm also interested if anyone has had any luck with accupuncture and if it is worth the expense since my insurance doesn't cover it.
Thank you in advance,
Sarah

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!
For purposes of treatment, learning about your Migraines, being able to get care if you're away from home, etc., you need a full diagnosis of what type of Migraine you have. You can read more about this in The Type of Migraine Does Matter.
If your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.
