Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 07:31 AMI have keeped a migrain log and have not been able to find a trigger excepet the weather and as you know by living in Mi the weather changes from min to min. My nurlogist was trying to get me to a specilist at the U of M and they cant see me until feb! So my mother and internist( who I am very close to father like relationship close family friend which is very helpfull and comfortable) back to the subject they are going to see if they can get me into someone in bronson or borgess. I have already seen
Dr. Whintrab at st. Joe but I didn't like him and could not connecet with him. Is that awful ? I need to be able to conect with a Dr to feel safe and that he or she is taking me seriously. I have another huge hurtal I am Bi polar and suffer from a mod to sever anxiety disorder so that complicants thing from what meds they can put me on to the worst which usually happens alot is that Dr. don't take me sersously they just think it all due to my Bi polar disorder and don't take me sereusly. I am so glad that when 2 mondays ago I had such a head ach I thougth I was going to die and I lost the abiltiy to move any part of my body and I could not talk hardly at all my 10 year old was able to get ems here and my best friend and brother who all went to the hospital with me my mother in law was not far behind were able to advocate for me and they made sure to take the situation seroisly since the Dr that was on hates me due to a conflict he had with my mother many years ago. Once my husband was able to get their I thought he was going to knock that Dr out or at least that is what I have been told, the Dr assumed it was all in my head and I was fine. My migrains started long before my diagnosses of bi-polar. I has no medical problems untill after the birth of my second and last child and my hyst. My mom thinks its all conected some how because I never ever had a cold or missed a day of work unless one of my children were sick.
sorry I am babbling I just get so much comfort from this web site. Here I don't feel all alone and I know everyone here can understand unlike most people in my life who think I should just take some advil and be fine.I love this site and being able to share my trubleles and concers with.

Friday, October 10, 2008 at 08:21 AMOh sweetie, it isn't awful not to feel connected with your doctor. You and your doctor are supposed to work in partnership to come up with the best health care plan you can. If you are not comfortable with him, as we like to say around here, "fire his sorry butt!"

I don't know if you've ever heard of a comorbid condition, but these are conditions that occur to together but are not caused by one another. There seems to be a link between Migraine disease and Bipolar disorder. We have an article you may be interested in reading, click on the blue print HERE.
Don't forget to check out our forums. There are many people there who understand exactly what we go through on a daily basis and are very supportive.

Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 08:11 PMThank you very much for the information,I have discussed it with my family and especially my mother who has a masters in nurseing. She thought that condition was very intersting because not only am I Bi polar I have a sever anxiety disorder I also have colitis ie Ibs. We defently plan on dicussing this with my migrain speialist or my nurolgist which ever my interest can get me in to . As I stated I can't get into U of M until Feb and there is no way that he wants me to wait that long . One thing he told me I could of had that awlful monday when I thought I was going to die was conversion reaction, in my unprofesional opinon this is not what happend that monday, I have no idea what it was but it was not that .My interenst have in awsome relationship and my mom said he was basical trying to rule out every thing because he was scared for me. He has a daughter about 10 years younger that me,but we have had alot of the same problems we have even seen most of the same DRs. I love my interest I have been seeing him for about 10 years he is also good friends with my mom. I am hoping I can get in to someone soon so he is tyring to find someone. Again thanks for all you help and words of incuragment.
