This is my first share post, so I may just babble along. (Boy was I babbling at work last night
-more on that later.)
As I stated in the forums, I suffer migraines with occipital neuralgia, and chronic daily headaches. They all seem to feed off of and trigger each other. This past summer everything started to come together and I was even able to wear normal glasses instead of driverwear (Driverwear is wonderful. They are tinted glasses for driving that darken as the light gets brighter, not dependant upon uv rays like transitions are. Mine are also polarized, and I wear them inside and out. They are darker than normal glasses and transitions, but just dark enough offer relief to sensitive eyes. My eye doctor suggested them to me and now she and her daughter-both have migraines started using them also.) or sunglasses while inside. I was even able to go outside without sunglasses if it wasn't to bright. Oh, how wonderful it was to enjoy sunny days and not hope that it was overcast. I could never figure out why I was so sensetive to light, even while not in the middle of a migraine until I found out that O.N. makes you sensetive to light.
Back to our broadcast:
Around August 24, an incident at a side-job (I am a police officer) caused me to be taken to the E.R. of the city where I live and work-I usually use another one a town over if I need to go to the hospital, unfortunatly in an ambulanc you sometimes lose the choice. While there I was treated for a severe migraine with toradol, dilauded and compazine. I was then released to go home with instructions to return if there were any complications-nausea etc.
That night I became very ill and around midnight started throwing up what felt like gallons of liquid. It freaked my wife out
; later she told me she didn't think a person had that much fluid in there body.
She took me to the same E.R. where I continued my trips to the porcelin recycling center while the E.R. took their time seeing me. (I even tried to tell them that this was related to an "on-duty" incident as even though I was not at "work" we are on duty 24/7 and any official/public safety action resulting in injury is considered an on-duty injury-one of the reasons my wife took me back to this particular E.R. This didn't work anyway because heavy storms in the area had caused people to show up just because power in their homes had gone out.) When they finally saw me I was so dehydrated that they could not find a vein. They finally did find a vein after about a dozen of so attempts -I had the holes/bruises to prove it- and started an I.V. All this time my jaws are clenching, and my stomach and limbs are spasming/shaking. I thought it was just the cold of the E.R. The doctor prescribed another injection of compazine for nausea and when that did not work gave me something else.
