Hi
I have had what I think are now called NDPH for about twenty years and I have just read David Buchholz's book (which I saw from an article).
I didn't realize that mostly all headaches arise from migraines and as you know he bases a lot of his theory on dietary principles. It seems very strict to me.
I was wondering if you think it is worth trying his diet for this or giving it a miss. I have tried many many things over the years but I am not on medications as I tried some and they didn't help but I am going to see a couple of neurologists that deal in headaches soon. Being in Australia, I found information was lacking here until recently and I find your webside and the National Headache Foundation great.
Does anyone know of a great headache specialist in Melbourne?
Do you think there is any point in Acupuncture or physio as well?
I would love to find ANYTHING that works as no pain medication touches my headaches and I am loathe to go on them because of the rebound stories.
Thanks

Good Day Tunz,
You have found a website that can connect you to a great deal of information about migraine disease. Also people who, like you, live day to day with it and can offer you help and support. Sometimes that's what we need.
At the top of the page you'll notice the"Find" and "Manage" drop downs. From those two areas you will find a wealth of information. The "Find" area is primarily about the types of migraines and the "Manage" deals more with treatment, medications and triggers. The trigger section I think will be of particular interst to you based on your share post. While I have not read the book you reference, many people do have food related triggers, but there are many non-food triggers, which is explained. One of my triggers is lack of sleep. Another major trigger for me has been menopause. Though I do have some food triggers.
What I would also like to suggest you do is join us over in the forums. The registration is separate and you can find your way over there under Manage --> Migraine Forums. When you get their you'll notice to your right a "Login/Join" link. Click on it. Takes a couple of minutes. You don't have to join to view the posts, but to post you do have to join. Also of information sharing goes on. I've found it very helpful to ask questions. That a great wealth of knowledge that people are willing to share. And sometimes more importantly a great deal of support, rather like a large extended family!!
Hope this helps.
Cindy
