My Unwanted Houseguest
By Karen Griffin
Headaches are particularly peculiar
like an uninvited houseguest,
Who never thinks of calling
And always leaves a nasty mess
Everywhere! Yes really quite appalling.
You never know what day or time
These nasty tyrants will come,
They just show up unannounced
And ruin all the fun.
They like to come in early
And stay ‘til later on.
They never seem to notice
All the damage they have done.
They just keep coming and staying
Sometimes all through the night
They cannot be offended
Or given a nasty fright.
To try and ask them to go- just leave
Would be about as efficient
As asking spiders
Not to weave.
Or better yet asking mosquitoes never to bite,
Yes that would be an awesome sight.
I would love to tell them where to go
But knowing them (they are so slow),
Would be perceived as stay as long as you please,
while eating up all my groceries.
Yes a headache is my
Unwanted houseguest
And I am the disgruntled host,
To playing endlessly forever
With the guest I hate the most.
