Migraines, Mitral Valve Prolapse, Hormonal Changes, Stress & Tension headache
I take a combination of demerol and phenergan sometimes phenergan and nirvam. Downside is you are either asleep or a zombie for about 4-6 hours after dosing, but the pain is tolerable. For whatever reason I can take demerol alone and operate normally. The nirvam/phenergan combo is best taken before lying down in a quiet, dark room. Have taken didn't work:neurontin, topamax, maxhalt, midrin, tylenol, motrin, advil. Can't take anything with caffiene because of my heart. Tylenol PM worked ok but doctor says it is bad for you to take long term.
I am a stay at home wife, mother and grandmother. My son is 27 and married with a precious granddaughter. My daughter is finishing up at college and is about to embark on her career. Professionally I am a nurse and teacher. I am currently on a leave of absence from my work due to headache and side effects of medication.
I enjoy walking and enjoying nature. I like to cook and try different kinds of cuisine. I love to travel and sightsee to gain an appreciation for other cultures and ways of living. I enjoy yoga and meditation along with prayer. Faith is the hub of the wheel of my life. Without hope and faith I would have given up long ago. Chronic pain is not pleasant, but I have come to understand suffering works for my greater good and I know in my heart although I cannot understand now why migraine is in my life, someday I will and that is enough. There are so many others who suffer much more than I do and I constantly am aware I need to be thankful and pray always for those in most need of comforting.
