    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

By now means do you "just have to live with it." Migraine is a genetic neurological disease thought to be caused by overactive neurons in our brains and genetics.

Some of the symptoms you've described may be due to many issues, so one of the most important things is to get an accurate diagnosis. Clearly, if your doctor is only prescribing Imitrex for you, it is time to find a new doctor who will work with you to try and reduce the number of Migraine attacks you have. So it may be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.
For purposes of treatment, learning about your Migraines, being able to get care if you're away from home, etc., you need a full diagnosis of what type of Migraine you have. You can read more about this in The Type of Migraine Does Matter.
