A bad one hit on early on Sunday. I woke up at 5 am thinking that it would go away so I rolled over and went back to sleep. At 7 I work up in so much pain. I got up and took an Imitrex. After I took the Imitrex I went back to sleep. The Imitrex only dulled the pain a little. At 11:36 when my 12 year ...

    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

I'm so sorry you are in such pain. But a funny, not ha ha thing can happen to us.  It  is called Medication Overuse Headache, MOH and can occur if we take certain OTC and/or prescription medications, like Imitrex, more than two to three days a week. The only way to stop MOH is to stop taking the offending medication right away. We have more information on this HERE. Now, I'm not saying you have MOH, just something to consider if this information applies to you.

I totally understand the money situation. We are basically a one income family and it is very difficult. But sweetie, you probably aren't able to live life to its fullest at this point be in pain all the time.  Seeing a Migraine specialist would be the best possible thing you can do for you and your family. We don't have any patient recommended specialists in Alaska at the moment, I'm sorry to say. Would you do me a favor? After you see the specialist (Laughing) would you let me know how your appointment was? This article: Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? may help you make up your mind a bit easier. Let me know either way, ok?
