I recently read an Ask the Clinician post that referred to one sided tingling.  I just wanted to relate my story - I have had migraines for 5 years and recently went to a specialty hospital in Chicago for help.  They changed my drug regimine and started me on a Beta-Blocker - Inderol.  In an odd chain of events - I was on the time release form then on a lower dose then on a high dose non-time release form.  I thought I was having new symptoms similar to the ones described - one sided "heeby - jeebies", numbness in my hands that would spread, etc.  It was so minor starting that I thought it was a change in symptoms or due to coming off other meds.  Since I luckily had the mix up with my meds - it got really bad so I mentioned it to a different MD than the prescriber (I had told them but they missed it) and they knew right away that it was a side effect of the meds.  It was a reaction to the Beta-Blocker - as soon as I stopped it (under physician supervision) the new symptoms went away.  I am trying other beta blockers since it did help with the migraines - but the weird symptoms were too much to bear.  My first physician chalked it up to the migraines but fortunately the other one knew the cause.  Interestingly if you look up the med on the internet or PDR it does not list this as a side effect!  The moral?  You should investigate your meds with your MD to determine if there is an outside cause for the change in symptoms.  That one sided business was scary!

Good Luck!
