It's been so long since I've been on here. Wow! When I wrote my last post, I realized how much I didn't like being on all the different medications for my constant every day headaches, migraines and neck pain. About that time, I also discovered a brand new chiropractor that had just moved into the city where I live. If you knew me well, you would know how much I hated chiropractors and how I thought that they were completely bogus. I had been to 3 different chiropractors and all 3 had been horrible experiences. But since I really wasnt' sure about adding botox to my huge list of medication, I asked my doctor if I should try a chiropractor. He said to go ahead and try it since I had hesitation about trying botox. So since then I've been seeing the chiropractor and I have feeling so much better. He has gotten me off of all my medication except for my topamax. He was also able to figure out that I wasn't drinking enough water every day which contributed a lot to my headaches. So the daily headaches are gone, which is AMAZING. The migraines are doing better now that I'm recovered from my car accidents. I don't know how or why they're doing better, but they are. They're not gone by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just not getting them as often. When I get one, I still get really nauseous and the lights bother me. So I take my Imitrex and attempt to sleep it off. I also like to use the peppermint oil and lavender essential oil. There are a few others that I like to use, but those 2 work the best for my headaches. I'm very thankful that they aren't hitting me as often as they were and they aren't hitting as hard as they were. I still haven't completely figured out what triggers my migraines.
Anyways, I hope you all are doing well!

Hi there,
As we've often said, dehydration can trigger a Migraine for many people, I know it does for me and my son. I try to make sure I drink enough water every day so I don't get a Migraine.
Other common Migraine triggers include changes in our sleeping schedules (too much or too little sleep) skipping meals, barometric weather changes and certain foods. Have you tried keeping a detailed Migraine diary? When trying to identify identify triggers one of the best tools is a good Migraine diary. You can read more about this and download a free diary workbook in our article Your Migraine and Headache Diary.
