I have had this one for 9 days and 2 trips to my doc and one to ER with the relief in sight at this point. They just took me off all my meds for the pain and said let see what the weekend brings. Well it is 1 am and I hurt so bad I'm in the tub in my bathroom with all the lights out and no sound. I feel for you and wish you best of luck. We all have to remember there is a end to this tunel no matter how long it is and we have to keep fighting for ourselves and our dignity. That last bit was just to remind me that it can get worse. Good luck!!!!Syl

I am so sorry you are going through this. I assume you have to use a VA hospital and VA doctors in order for it to be covered by insurance? I know this can make finding a doctor even more difficult.
I know that the financial burden may be hard, but maybe it's time to look elsewhere for treatment. We have a list of patient recommended migraine specialists here on our site, please look it over and see if there is someone close to you.
Also, I'm sure I don't have to tell you how dangerous it is to have a migraine for 12 days straight! If you have not had more then a 4 hour break in the pain (not including sleep) then you are for sure in Status Migranous and need to get this migraine broken fast.
See our article on Status Migrainous: The basics and please go to the ER and get help immediately. This is serious! Migraines lasting this long increase our risk of stoke, among other health concerns.
Please let us know how you are doing, ok?
