Questioning if I have migraines

By ellenmack Tuesday, May 29, 2007
I had migraines when in 8th grade.  Since then only the aura with no other symptoms, and sometimes just the hint of an aura temporarily.  Sometimes I have a lot of discomfort in my head,  which can be accompainied by a feeling of stiffness in my face.  At these times I have problems with balance.  Other times I have headaches that aren't releaved by asperin or other pain medication.  Nothing has been discovered by CD's or MRI's.

It sounds to me like you do. I have been doing some reading on the internet, and it does not always include extreme pain. Especially pay attention to your environment before it happens. Bright lights, heat, overexertion are a few of my triggers. hope this helps!

Thank you Amy. I have been told that the aura I see is an ocular migraine, but don't know how that is any different from any other, except that it only affects my vision a little. If my head discomfort is another manifistation of a migraine problem, I would like to know what to do about it, as it is a really long lasting problem when I have it.

I will try to notice when it begins to happen and see if I can see any connection to the situations you mention.

It is not uncommon for Migraineurs to have normal MRI's or CT's.
