This note is for the Teri Robert's Migraine site. (I have followed Teri's forums since Usenet, her About.com site, not sure if she ever did Delphi Forums, then called Delphi, now here.)
I take a nitroglycerine tablet as emergency dose if I suffer a bad acid attack, actually it is an esophageal spasm related to GERD. The symptoms are just like heart attack as the vagus nerve services both. The medicine is Nitrostat .5mg .
I will get a temporary, short lived, bi-temple throbbing headache, once the pill kicks in, usually within 15 minutes as my blood vessels dialte, and heart speeds up throbbing, too. But it is worth it considering how paiful the spasm can be and it can be worse than a full blown migraine, if it goes full blown. My doctor, of course, suspected a heart attack.
Yes, I have had a full blown cardiac workup, including the nuclear isotope cardiac pictures.
Afterwards, don't go anywhere near an airport as the TSA personnel and patrolling cop cars have Geiger-Counters and will suspect you, me, as a possible terroist. LOL! Actually, it is not so funny. This actually happened to an older couple I know in their age 70's.
Ever wonder how safe nuclear medical tests are? I have had my share of them.
Used to be, while still radioactive I was not allowed to leave the hospital as an outpatient until I was deemed safely unradioactive enough.
