I am thinking of trying Lyrica. Has anyone had good success? I've tried a lot of different ones. Nothing is particularly great. I had a reprieve from a bad bout of Migraines after having had a surgery with anesthesia and switching meds again to Depakote and amytriptiline. Now they are returning with ...

Just a thought here - how long a trial period is given for each of the Migraine medications you've tried? Sometimes it can take up to three months for certain medications to work and see a reduction in Migraine frequency and severity. Ninety days is forever when you are in pain, I've been there.

I haven't tried Lyrica. How long have you been on Depakote? Has it been a while, has the dose been adjusted? Again, just kind of thinking about options...

Trigger identification and management is important. For expamle, I will probably get a Migraine tomorrow because the weather here has been so rainy today. I can't do anything about it, just be prepared for it. I found that out keeping a Migraine diary which you can find HERE.

Let us know how you are doing, ok?

I acutally have been on the depakote before and even increased the dose for a period of time. I switched back to Topamax with no better results because I hated the fatigue that goes with the Depakote. The Depakote seemed a little more helpful at times but sometimes I can't really tell. But I am back but I am back on it. I see the neurologist fairly frequently and he doesn't have any great suggestions. I've been on steroids at times to break the cycle but that didn't even work the last time it got bad. What I can't figure out is why having surgery broke the cycle....was it the Lyrica I had to take a day before and a few days after???? or the anesthesia itself? It is such a bizarre disease and it raises it's evilhead whenever the weather changes. Thanks for the thoughts and Thank the scientist who invented  Immitrex, otherwise I don't think I would be functional.

    Take care.
