I truly need some encouragement. On August 29,2007, I was diagnosed with Basilar-Type migraines. I have two sets of migraines going on. I have classic migraines as well the neurologist started me on Periactin 4mg (1 tablet 4X/day) . These headaches have really worn me down. The last 2 months of my life have been horrible - going back and forth to the ER until my appointment time rolled around. I pray for you all that are suffering with migraines. I know it is not easy, but keep the faith and keep me in your prayers as I will do the same for you. God
Bless! cheechee

CheeChee,
I've read both of your posts and just wanted to say hi and to hang in there.
Migraine disease is very frustrating and it alters your life. It's very easy to let it get you down.
Do your very best to stay positive. Even if the only thing you did that day was watch your fish in your fish tank because everything else hurt too much. Think about how calming it was to watch the fish.
The best way to fight this disease is to educate yourself and others around you.
This website has a wealth of info and members that can relate to your story. Have you joined the forum? I didn't for about 3 weeks when I first found this website. I would just read the shareposts everyday. I learned a lot from them. But, I have learned even more from the forum.
Teri's book that is on this website is a must for any migrainuer. Once I read it, I gave it to my husband and my parents to read. I get migraines myself but not very bad. I am mainly on this website for my son. He is 10 and has been suffering for three years.
Hopefully, you have seen the link on here for headache specialists. Sorry, I don't know how to post a link but, you should be able to find it. My son has been to tons of doctors but only one headache specialist. He diagnosed him immediately with hemiplegic migraines. All the other neourologists were treating him like he had normal migraines.
They were giving him medicines that could actually increase his risk of having a stroke. This week we are taking him to a pediatric headache specialist. We are hoping that she will be able to assist him even more. We have been running into problems because of his age.
Anyway, I just wanted to suggest the list here. The great thing about it is that the headache specialists listed are referred by members of this website who have used the doctor and liked them well enough to recommend them.
I wish you luck and hope you are able to stay positive in finding the best ways to handle this disease.
