    I'm glad that the topamax is working for you!

     

    I take topamax and have been on it for some time now. I also take some suppliments, but not B12. I take a multi vitamin, Magnesium (850mgs), and Calcium (1000mgs).

     

    As far as the weight loss, I noticed when I first started on it, I lost about 15 pounds. This was because of the lack of hunger that the topamax gave me....but I've probably gained back 5 of it. I'm also on Amitriptyline along with the Topamax at this time.

     

    Everyone is different when it comes to side effects, that's why they are all potential side effects, they don't happen to everyone.

    I am so happy that you found some relief. I have been in the hospital five times since
    Feb and it is very frustrating. They actually don't seem to know what is going on but I now have the diagnosis of status migrainous. Does anyone get as frustrated as I do about the lack of compassion you get from some nurses and doctors? The sad part for me is I am a nurse.

    I tried the Vitamin B2. It did nothing for me except cost a lot of money. Topamax worked pretty well, until I got a kidney stone and now I can't take it anymore, because it can cause more stones.

    Unfortunately Topomax (the 2 times I tried 25 mg/day) gave me small headaches every single day so I had to stop and then they went back to once or twice a week.  I have also tried Vitamin B2 but only 200 mg/day, not your 400 which is more than what I had read about, but it's worth a try.
