Him Again

By Bob Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Ice packs on my forehead placed.

Lights dimmed in my room.

Mr. Migraine has arrived.

Set myself for doom.

Feed him several aspirin.

See if that's enough.

"Take much more than that, you fool,"

Said with voice so gruff.

"Plan on hangin' for a while;

Maybe for a day.

All depends upon my mood

Just how long I stay.

"Rest yourself upon the bed.

Shut the music off.

Any noise above a peep

Makes me pound and scoff.

"Try to fall asleep, you fool.

Stirring angers me.

Waken and you find me here?

Then you're up a tree.

"Means that I'm a-settlin' in

For a lengthy span.

Means that you get on the phone.

Cancel all your plans.

"Lie again. Contort your neck.

Try to ease my thump.

Face it, fool, your master's here.

You are just the chump.

"Music off; tv as well:

Punishment for you.

Quarantined within your room.

Nothing you can do.

"Wait one moment. I'm in err.

Something you can do:

Take an axe. Chop off your head.

Then I'm gone...like you!"
