Living with the pain of migraine

By migrainemisery Wednesday, August 06, 2008

Hi, I am new here but not new to migraines.  I have had migraines since early childhood.  I currently avg. 4-5 per week.  I am a single mom of two young children and my mom and dad have to help me alot when I am unable to function.  I miss alot of work and am in jeopardy of losing my job.  My migraines are disabling.  I have to lie down in a dark room and get cool.  Most times I get an ice pack.  I take imitrex, topamax, chlorpromzine, zanaflex, and neurontin for my migraines.  Well, thats enough about me.  All of this can get pretty depressing, I suffer from depression and anxiety as well but my Christian faith pulls me through.  Thanks for reading this.

Hi, I too am not knew to migraines and I have definitely found that no one understands better the misery and depression that can accompany this disease like a fellow migraineur. You are not alone. For me sometimes just knowing there are others in the same boat helps. Best wishes to you from a fellow migraineur.
