I have suffered with migraines for 20 years and have had a terrible time with my Doctor - she brushed me off a lot to say the least! I saw a neurologist about 8 weeks ago and he sent me for a CATscan which turned out fine. I was having no luck with Imitrex or Maxalt to name a few! He decided to put me on Amitryptiline - I was very reluctant as nothing I read seemed too positive! I decided to give it a try and I am thrilled to say that after suffering daily migraines for soooooo long, I am migraine free for 6 weeks! I have had the odd headache which I can treat with tylenol migraine or aleve but no debilitating migraine attacks! I'm a new woman so if Amitryptiline has been recommended to you and you've been reluctant - give it a try -also, I'm on the lowest dose there is and its working!! I hope this gives someone hope!

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!
What great news to hear you have found a med that reduces your Migraine attacks. That is something to be excited about. Maybe now your triptans, Imitrex or Maxalt will work better when you have the occasional attack. That may be worth trying.
