My nine year old son has suffered from migraines since age 2 years, and has now been diagnosed with sparodic hemiplegic migraine for the last two and a half years. This is my area of interest as it is very difficult to find anyone else knowing what you are witnessing and if in fact people believe what Tommy goes through
Tom takes flunarizine and is currently coming off topiramte to start imipramine
I am a mum to five kids, one of whom suffers from hemiplegic migraine. His name is Tommy and he has just turned nine. He has had headaches since the age of two but has only been treated for hemiplegic migraines at GOSH for just over two years. He is seen by Professor Peter Goadsby and we are still trying to stabilise him on meds. I am Tommy's carer and we find daily living very difficult at times. As a mother and nurse I find it very difficult to watch him go through all the pain and distress. I love music and reading.
