MAV..I hate this

By LadyMcCartney Sunday, December 09, 2007

Hi Everyone,

I am new here.

Pretty depressed. I'm on week 4 of Topamax. Have had the nausea, double/blurry vision, and now this shortness of breath and overheating easily. Really horrid. I hate this. I almost want to just quit taking these stupid pills. They have helped with this horrid dizziness I have had for about a year and half but if I can't breathe Lol is this worth it. I have know clue but I am sick of this really. I haven't worked in almost a year. Its just horrid. When will it all end. Furious

Glad you found us. I'm  not sure what MAV stands for. You will want to drink plenty of water while taking topamax because there is potentially serious side effect - decreased sweating.

It can take up to 3 months for our bodies to adjust to new medications a see a reduction in our Migraine frequency. But if you don't feel this medication is working for you, don't lose hope there are many other options. Click HERE for a complete list.

we hope you are feeling better soon.

I just started taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia and hoping to get some migraine benefit as well. I am also experiencing that overheating easily, and shortness of breath. I keep thinking maybe it is just anxiety from starting a new med. ( I always get nervous, as I always seem to get the side effects). So I am gonna try to stick with it.

If you are still on Topamax and still having side effects, that is a pretty long time for an adjustment period.

It is so easy to get depressed when you get really sick, it seems no one understands and the world has just stopped, but have faith, you WILL feel better!!!
