Well, I'm back after a 4-5 day migrane and a 2 day rebound headache.
As some of you may know, I enrolled at DePaul University to make another attempt to pursue a degree in the last year or so. My neurologist was very cooperative in writing a letter supporting my entry into "The Chronic Illness Initiative", a special program at DePaul which assists in removing barriers to educational opportunities brought on by Chronic and/or Invisible Illnesses.
If anyone had considered completeing their post secondary education, but is concerned that frequent attacks may affect preformance, I would highly recommend looking into this program, or inquiring whether there is a similar program at the school of your choice.
I, myself, chose DePaul because it is a highly acclaimed school with a nationally recognized reputation. They are very understanding when it comes to the special needs of both the disabled and returning adult student. They award credit through online classes, as well as through experiential learning (life experience), Inependent Learning Projects, and Faculty Guided Independent Study. See the link to the Chronic Illness Initiative at DePaul below if you are interested.
