Haven't written in a while because things haven't changed that awful much. Have been to the ER 3 times in 2 weeks, and it's been hard to recover from it. Thankfully, since I've been able to get insurance (finally), I can go to a better hospital than the one here in my small hometown. They are more efficient, super considerate. Put me in a room and turn the lights out immediately. At my hometown ER, I may be laying in the lobby for hours just waiting to get into a room. And that's miserable. My neurologist just started me on DHE 45 injections when I get a migraine. When I called the insurance before I got the prescription, they said they'd pay for part of it. Then when the pharmacy ran it through, they didn't. So 10 shots were $204. Ugh! I can't afford that, of course. But I'm going to try to use the ones I've already paid for. Been on Lyrica 150mg 3x a day for prevention. It hasn't changed the severity, but maybe has helped how long the ha lasts. Before I may have been in bed for 3 days, and now it's 1. Have tried everything else, so we'll see how this goes.

Have you been on Lyrica long? Something to keep in mind, and your hopes up, is that our bodies can take up to three months to adjust to new medication and see a reduction in our Migraine frequency and severity.
You may want to ask your doctor to write the insurance company a detailed letter of Medical Necessity for the DHE 45 in hopes they will pay for it. It certainly couldn't hurt.
