Being treated like a drug addict because of migraines!

In the past few months, my migraines have progressively gotten worse. I've started taking Depakote (about 2 months ago) with no relief. And the severity is unreal. I've had migraines since I was 3 yrs old, and I never thought anything could hurt so much. A couple of weeks ago I went to the hospital ER. My BP was 188/133, sweating, vomiting, the usual. After waiting in the lobby for about 5 hours, I got to go...

Living day to day

Haven't written in a while because things haven't changed that awful much. Have been to the ER 3 times in 2 weeks, and it's been hard to recover from it. Thankfully, since I've been able to get insurance (finally), I can go to a better hospital than the one here in my small hometown. They are more efficient, super considerate. Put me in a room and turn the lights out immediately. At my hometown ER, I may be laying...

Can You Hear the Paindrops?

Can you hear those paindropsThey're pounding against the groundOne by one they fall togetherEach with distinctive sounds When the rain subsides and the clouds are goneThe air is so fresh and cleanIt seems to carry all the madness awayLike a strange, wonderful dream Wouldn't it be wonderfulIf it were only trueThat a magical breeze could carry All your migraines away for you The story never changesAnd the song remains the...

This Week's Story

Tuesday night was horrible. I'd fought a migraine all day, for it only to get worse late in the evening. I woke my boyfriend up about 11:30pm to take me to the emergency room. I'm sure those reading this know that this is the last place we want to be with a migraine! TV blaring, children screaming, a 2,3,4? hour wait to see the doctor for 2 minutes. Anyway, we went. Waited 2.5 hours to get back to see...

thank you!

Thank you to those who responded to my first sharepost. I'm not alone! I will definitely go to the migraine forum. I would have posted this sooner, but have had a migraine for about 3 days. My psycologist encouraged me to check out online support groups, and I am so glad I did. Although I hate to hear that anyone is in pain, it is such a relief to know that I'm not alone in this fight.

I have had migraines since I was 3 yrs old, I am now 35. The drs said that it wasn't possible, because I was too young. But after several years, it was diagnosed. Had anywhere from 2 or 3 to 10 a year most of my life. But the past few years have been horrible. I have lost 4 jobs, my family doctor gave up on me, and I had to file for disability. On average, I have anywhere from 2 to 5 days per week that I...
