Heat Exertion Migraines

By Dave Thursday, May 06, 2010

I thougt I'd update you on progress I've made with managing my migraines. I have suffered with migraines after sport, exertion and/or heat from my teens. I'm now 57 race motorcycles and I am very active working physically on my plot of land in the South African sun.

I've recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and the treatment, 1x Glucophage at night and a strict sugar free diet, has helped with the daily morning headaches.

Secondly I take 1/2 a Cafergot before any exertion or a race and the other 1/2 during the day and it has definitely helped. I sometimes still vaguely have a background headache but it is not the debilitating migraine i used to experience.

Any progress is good so i share this for those like me who thought they have to live with it.
