Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

If your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists

I do understand how difficult it makes things when you don't have insurance to cover your doctor expenses. No, I don't have an answer for that problem and wish I did.  I've been there myself and know how very difficult that makes everything. I can only tell you how I managed, which was to budget very strictly to get the money together for doctors. Money is even tighter for us know going through a divorce and trying to raise two teens on my very limited incomes.

But some other thoughts: some hospitals have teaching centers that may have a "headache clinic" associated with them, that is worth looking into. I did that and found out about my cervical disc issues. Another idea is to call the Migraine specialists near you and see about a payment plan, some may work with you on that. Or saving some money for the initial visit to the specialist and try to get a diagnosis and treatment plan, the see your local doctors for continued treatment. Many members here do that.

Have you been over to our forum? It is a great place for support and good ideas from people just like us who battle this disease every day. To get there you can click HERE.
