It's been about two weeks now that I've been following my new food plan (no wheat, dairy or sugar). This is in addition to the other diet modifications I've already made: no MSG; limited salt; organic meat and veggies only; limit processed foods. My head doesn't seem to be much better, but my stomach certainly is. I cheated a little on Friday and had a delicious chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven. My migraine that day got much worse in the afternoon. I'm not sure it was the wheat, so much as the sugar. I know too much sugar is one of my stackable triggers. Dairy and wheat sensitivities both run in my family, so taking those out has helped my stomach/digestion. And I am eating a lot healthier.

It looks like the acupuncture I've been doing since November isn't doing as much for my migraines as I had hoped. I'm going to give it a few more weeks. My new headache specialist suggested I try Botox, so her office is in the process of getting insurance approval. Once that happens, I'll give it a try - probably another 1-2 weeks from now. In the meantime I'm sticking with the acupuncture, hoping it will at least help alleviate my various migraine symptoms.

I still haven't been able to identify most of my migraine triggers. I've been keeping a headache diary since the beginning of November. The vast majority of the triggers I've been able to figure out are stackable. I have this on my list of things to discuss with my doctor the next time I see her.

For now, I'm trying to take things day by day, or minute by minute, or sometimes even breath by breath. The pain has become a constant companion. Migraine disease has completely invaded my life, but I refuse to let it run my life. The best thing I can do is keep searching for a better treatment regimen, and try not to give up hope before I find it. Blink
