Aww, thanks, Tawsha! Writing it out like this definitely helps with the depression, and with coping with the pain. I sent it to DBF and I think it helps him to understand too.

Hopefully we'll both get through this rough patch soon.HeartHeart

Thanks for your comments, Sherry. I'm glad that my words can help you. It is very, very hard to hold onto that hope sometimes, but having people here who understand what we go through has been key for me. Hang in there. *hugs*

Your poem brought tears to my eyes as well.  Loved it, and feel for you as I know what is like at times.

This is awesome. I suffer from Migraines everyday...They are Hell incarnate. I am also a poet. What a fantastic website my best friend sent me...my heart goes out to you and all the people who entered this contest. Do you know if there will be another? I would love to whip up a poem for it or even use one of the poems on pain and whatnot I already have. I am also bi-polar and figured out a long time ago, before it was common knowledge, that there is a connection between depression and migraines. I'm no rocket scientist (please forgive the cliche' I'd try to write a more poetic description but guess what my excuse is??? I'm getting the bloody nausea that is proceeding my migraine for the day...I always know the warning signs, thank-God so I can take my Imitrex before it becomes full-blown, that was a God-send, is a God-send I was blown away when the miracle drug was discovered and it came out) but I connected the dots since I knew so many people who had the combination. Now they know Seratonin is involved...I had to write you...again what a great find...Poetry on Migraines...and an actual contest...If you know if there is another would you be so kind as to let me know? Thanx in advance, even if you don't know or don't wish to write back...my name is Erika.

    Hi, Erika,

Yes, there WILL be another poetry contest! We hold one every year. We'll start accepting entries in January and February, thena announce the winners in April for National Poetry Month.

Keep an eye on the homepage of the site for the announcement. You can also go to the homepage and click the green button in the left column to subscribe to our emai newsletter. It will be in there too.
