The Loss
She tries to remember a time
When pain wasn't how she defined
The length of the day
How she found the way
To survive was only to pray
Her eyes used to sparkle with life
But after years of worry and strife
Where there were no cares
Only shadows are there
Of a life that is empty and bare
This can't be her forever
In her darkest dreams it would never
She will bear this cross
And suffer this loss
Until the day when this burden is gone
