O.k, so now I'm wondering what migraines will take away next. I've noticed for some time now that if I'm working with my head bent like when your reading a book, sewing or working on something, I always seem to end up with a migraine. How does that make any sense?
I've always noticed reading having that effect on me, but lately I thought I'd start sewing again and bingo...work for a while and then I either get a migraine or wake up the next day with one.
I do know that I have disc problems in the neck and lower spine, but I keep asking my doctor if that would have anything to do with the headaches...possibly. Possibly, doesn't really do anything for them!!
So far, I feel like there are so many things that migraines take away from you that I end up getting really ticked off...then it goes away! ;) or I learn something new to make me thankful for what I don't have.
Apparently moderation is part of the solution for migraines. You live your life in low to moderate form. Laugh too much, migraine. Cry, migraine. Get over tired, migraine. So laugh a little, don't cry too much, rest and chose the middle road for everything.
Wonderful, now, how to get the rest of the people around you to accept this??
Specially when you have aging parents who are not well and are in need of help 24/7...and at this stage in life you also have young adult children who are now mom and dad's and yours truly granny (love it) and wants to help out and be a granny...yes, finding the middle of the road with less bumps to jar the old noggin and keeping smiles on everyones face...well, these days I have learned to do what makes myself happy and the rest all falls in place...but it's remembering to be able to say no when you have to and yes when you can.
Limits. Everything has limits...but you know, yesterday I found out that my daughter in laws co-worker, 25 yrs old just found out she has MS and it's affecting her eye sight. She was totally upset at learning that at 25 she will be dealing with this desease.
We may have our limits but my heart goes out to this young woman. Her life is just beggining and now she has to learn to adapt to far more limitations than I ever have. Guess I'm not so bad off after all. This young woman is the age of my daughter, out of the two deseases, I guess Migraines are not so bad after all.
Always look for something to make you feel greatful for the things you do have, the things that you don't have (health wise) and the things yet to come...who knows what tomorrow will bring...and with our little grandchildren so darn smart, we just may have hope that some day they will understand migraines with greater knowledge, understanding and preventatives or better yet, a cure!
We can always dream.
