The Lyrica has been working well for most migraines, as far as I can tell, the hormonal migraines rather cut into that.  My doctor rufused to fill out my short term disability forms, since she said they had all the info, and apparently is not willing to contact my neuro on updates.  Whatever.  I phoned my neuro and he has added Amerge for a continuous treatment during the hormonal migraine stage.  Between these two I should get down to a manageable migraine level, and I have the arthrotec (really not my favorite med) to take if one slips past.  I think I have covered all my bases, and even if I had not, got to return to work asap.

forgive my stupidity but are any of the drug narcotics? i found myself in that situation. the doctors not thinking you needed to be off disabled and in the mean time i was turning into a junkie and didn't realize what i was doing to myself just to keep working.

i was taking way too much pain relief...MAKE them give you your documentation before something like that would happen!

No, none of them are narcotics.  Amerge is a triptan and Arthrotec is a rather unpleasant anti-inflammatory.  Lyrica is a preventative, which hopefully is cutting down the migraines enough that work won't be to horrific.

I feel your pain, I am in much the same situation myself, I take it you are out of sick time, paid holiday, or vacation?  I have gotten to where I am using that to supplement my sick time.  As soon as I get any, it's pretty much gone, let me know what happens!

PS Never heard of Lyrica or the anti inflammatory you mentioned.
