Shut Down

By Myth1977 Thursday, April 09, 2009

Time inches forward with the sluggish mind lagging,

Thousands of iridescent sparkles dance in the sky,

with worms of light and pain twisting inside the eyes.

Noise is piercing but hearing is muffled

I speak and forget and mumble the jumble.

At first the very small knot of electrical pain,

Then shoots through the mind,

Reflecting off the bone.

Everything felt is too much.

The world is too intense.

Skull throbbing,

Shooting pain,

Eyes aching.

Too much

Shut Down

Into the

Rabbit

Hole

THE INEVITABLE MIGRAINE

"I speak and forget and mumble the jumble" jumped out at me. I have aphasia often during migraines to the point that others at work have noticed and said "Are you getting a migraine?". Thanks for the poem.

:)  I just tell people I am having a bad word day... certainly nothing I say seems to come out straight.  And of course a similar problem when writing, thank goodness for spell check!

If only spell check (or word check) worked in real life...Laughing
