About Me

I experienced my first migraine at age 6. I'm 30 now, so I've been dealing with this disease for almost 25 years. Yikes.

Unfortunately, in November 2003, my migraines became much, much worse for no easily identifiable reason. Ever since I've been trying to find the right combination of preventatives and have a somewhat normal life. I'm constantly battling depression, too. As many of you know, chronic illness, especially migraine disease, gets all wrapped up with depression. It's a vicious cycle where one makes the other worse, seemingly into infinity. It is hard work being sick and trying to get well, but I'm hanging in there.

I'm married to a great guy, and I'm furmom to Felix, our young kitty, who is lots of fun. I enjoy reading, yoga, blogging, football, and watching tv and movies. I'm an attorney and a journalist, but I'm unable to work now because of my migraines. I was recently approved for Social Security Disability.
