My name is Shannon Terry I live in Dallas,Texas and am very happy to have found this site. Looks like a great place to learn and share with others what has and has not worked for you personally, and of course support and knowing you are not alone is always great! I have been suffering from migraine for over 20 years, I am 38. And, for the last 10 years have had the great pleasure of being diagnosed with intractable daily migraine. I also have a neurological malformation called am Arnold Chiari I Malformation, which I had brain surgery to correct about 2 years ago, but the headaches still around. I am seeing a new neurologist/pain specialist who has some new ideas on how to treat me - I am very hopeful...

It sounds like maybe it is time to see an expert in headache disorders and Migraine disease rather than a neurologist. A neurologist can treat you, but it may be hard for them to be experts in any one area because they treat so many different conditions, like Parkinson's, demintia, stroke, etc. A Migraine specialist devotes his/her entire practice to soley treating patients with Migraines and headache disorders. Thanks for welcoming me to the group! I should have been more clear , but didn't know how how detailed to get in an introduction. My doctor is a neurologist specializing in pain management of headaches. I have had 3 appts. with him and so far I am very excited about some new things we are trying. I will put them in another share post. Hope your day is pain free!!!
