I have found that Imitrex isn't necessarily the best medication out there for stopping a migraine. But what my doctor has told me is, as long as it has been 24 hours since your first dose of medication (either Frova or Imitrex) you should be fine. Also, if your headache isn't breaking even with major narcotic medication, you might be surprised what a combination of 2 advil and 2 regular strength aspirin can do. My doctor has advised me to take 2 of each at four hour intervals. It does help especially in addition to Imitrex. It might not make the headache go completely away but it does make it tolerable.
Hope this helps.

Laura,
Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Unless you've discussed it with your doctor, the instructions on all triptans are not to mix triptans. In other words, according to the instructions, if you take Frova, you shouldn't take Imitrex for 24 hours.
Hope you're feeling better,
Teri
