We All Are Bold

I'm entering this on behalf of my daughter, Chelsey. She's a minor, but she wrote this free verse poem. Thank you

Dullness, like a knife.

The sharpness, like the light.

My eyes twinge at the sight of eitheir.

I hide in my room,
Fearing from myself.
Seldom going out, seldom coming in.
I just lay in my bed with my ice pack,
my best friend.
The doctors make the medication,
sure it helps alright.
But it still seems to be a problem,
like I'm just in a fight.
I'm too young to die from this pain,

But all too old to suffer.
This is something I've battled,
Four years they've come and gone.
I've missed graduating, driving, even friends have lost touch.
I've certainly lived, but not near enough.
I'm 16 and suffering, being pulled from above.
I do suppose, however, there will be peace, eventually love.
I've been a fighter, and I will continue to fight,
if I don't battle this enemy.
My flame will be extinguished, off goes the lights.
I find strength in the darkness and cold,
but we all can make it.
We all are bold.

Congratulations to both of you. I too remember all too well what it was like to be 16 and miss out on so much.

The one thing that helps is knowing that we are not alone in dealing with migraines.

Teri Roberts and Nancy Bonk have been wonderful in helping sort out information and words of encouragement from two very amazing women...not to mention all the caring words from members.

Wish you well, never give in and don't give up,

Donna
