Living with migraines for 45 years...

By brook Thursday, October 11, 2007

Today is the 11th of October, 2007, and I found this site. I am retired, however, don't know how I  ever found time to work.

My experience with migraine headaches began when I became pregnant with my first child. And that is the begining of my "journey".

Just finished tests re: migraines!!!

Last Tuesday night I had a strange experience.  Knowing thatThanksgiving was coming on Thursday, I had been working like crazy all day.  I had hit the time where I was literally exhausted.

I didn't know what day it was, what my name was, and I had a migraine was coming on like crazy.  I took my med (Relpax) and got ready for bed!!!! That was the beging of a very long n-i-g-h-t!

I actually thought that I was going to die. I am not being melodramatic!  Nausea set in, dizziness, confusion, chest pain, weakness, numbness in my hands and legs/feet.  I told my husband who has seen me go through this before. He told me to get some sleep.

The next day was Wednesday and I tried to reach my Cardiologist. Late Wednesday, the nurse called me and really "got on my case".  I added a new chapter to my 65 years of information. My friend (who is very educated in medical training - Nurse V, told me that there is a 3 hour window if you have a TIA or Stroke.)

I am taking it easy with numbing, some problems, sleeping on my back (only), and waiting for a call from my cardiologist on monday.

I can hear some of you asking "why I don't go the Emergency room now?"  The answer is simple...

Your symptoms don't show up unless ypu catch them in that "three hour window"
