Yes there are many migraineurs who suffer with Hemiplegic Migraines. Because the sypmtoms of this type of migraine is so complex, you should seek out a migraine specialist, if you have not already.

Also, it would be a good idea to get a medAlert bracelet stating you suffer from these types of migraines, since syptoms can mimic those of stroke or epilepsy.

I am a 31 year old female I too have Hemiplegic Migraines and at this point my spells are so bad I feel like I am going to go crazy. I have two small boys and trying to maintain work and this disease. I am constantly having lack of strength on my left side and my face goes numb and draws up, the other day I ended up on the floor face down I could hear what was going on around me but I could not speak or move I felt as if I were trapped in my body, after the spell I still pulled myself together and went to work a couple hours went by then I zoned out again lost function of my left side had to be helped out of my seat and my coworker called my father to pick me up (embarressing).

I have called my doc (Neurologist) so many times for help during  these times he told me it sounds like you have not excepted this yet...your not having a stroke and you dont have a tumor your not going to die you just need to learn to deal with this.

I am taking Verapamil and Citolapram ( the docs thought I had anxiety on top of this because sometimes I have spells when I do too much activity or just nothing I feel like the circulation is being cutoff to my brain and I have blacked out) even with the Citolapram I still have it so how is it anxiety? I dont think so but I have been through enough crap and I dont care what they give me....

I really would like help understanding someone who understands this mess.

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
