Have suffered migraines ever since my early twenties, and now in my fifties, suffering a lot less as I have learned that most severe migraines are hormonal.... however, some come on with a vengence with no apparent trigger. I have worked with specialists, taken all preventatives, such as beta blockers, used Imitrex shots, then pills and have been using Zomig for the past few years and this medication is unbelievable. Within minutes, back to work with no side effects. Imitrex worked, but took longer and then had an effect on my muscles for the rest of the day. I also was unable to do much of anything for at least an hour. I never had a migraine where I was not throwing up and have been taken to the hospital a few times in my life to get shots to put me out due to the severity of the pain. I have had migraines last up to 4 days in the past. Some foods will trigger a migraine, especially the sulfates in wine. If I have any wine at all, it is white wine and always a two glass limit. I think wine is one of the worse triggers for a migraine other than hormone fluctuation. I carry Zomig tablets with me at all times and am so grateful for a medication that has me back on my feet, functioning, and not feeling tired or out of sorts within minutes. Please look into this if you are a chronic sufferer, it is a Godsend.
