    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection!

    Patti,

You really do need to do what Jenny did and get yourself to an actual Migraine specialist. Three meds in two weeks? That didn't give any of them a chance to work OR see if the side effects would stop. They often do as your body adjusts.

Also, which is it -- Basilar-TYPE Migraine or Hemiplegic? Someone needs to give you aproper diagnosis.

You might find our list in of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists helpful in finding a specialist.

No, you're not crazy. You just haven't seen the right doctor yet. As for this one, fire his sorry butt and move on!

Will you do me a favor, please? Read this article as a little gift and pep talk from me to you -- Patients As Consumers - Managing Healthcare and the Healthcare Team.

    Hi Patty!

Please take Teri's words to heart--you're NOT crazy!  You just haven't found the right doctor yet!  There are specialists out there who are familiar with migraine and know how to treat patients like you PROPERLY!  The doctor you have now is just not the right one for you!!

You've read my posts, so you know my story.  With encouragement from Teri and my other friends here and at the forum, I found the strength to leave my doctor and move on to a new, more knowledgeable specialist.  I was having daily, VERY debilitating migraines!  As you read, I just had NINE migraine free days!

This can happen for you, too.  Please don't give up!  Please look at the list of patient recommended specialists and find one to switch to.  There is someone out there who can help you--you've just got to find him/her!

I'll be thinking of you and praying for you!

Oh--think about coming to talk with us at the forum (Teri gave you the link).  I've learned SOOOO much there!  The forum is FULL of wonderful, supportive people with lots of information to share!!

    Hi Patti!

You are not losing your mind! Although I understand how you feel. I was in a wreck 3 years ago and have several of the same problems you described. 3 surgeries, 8 rounds of physical therapy, more meds than I can count and Dr's appointments out the back side and I still have problems. Don't give up! There is help out there.

As far as hubby goes have him to read the info about migraines. Try to edcuate him. It helps a little. But keep in mind it is hard for people to understand what they cannot see or have never experianced themselves.

As wonderful as my hubby is there are times when I have to get in his face and say wait a minute buster...let me tell you what I have been dealing with............

Meanwhile... I will keep you in my prayers.

    Take care.

    Anita
