I am a working drummer and drum teacher. Midrin works best for me. I tried Relpax  axert . Midrin much cheaper. Also Omega fish oil tabs. My pain is not as strong and dose not as long. I think the oil took about 6 months to start working.midrin will make you a little goofy, but it is not too bad....

    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

It's great that you found something that works. But please check with your doctor before taking Midrin and tylenol. Midrin contains acetaminophen like tylenol and taking the two together is not a good idea.

I should have mentioned was that I only take one midrin and one tylenol and nothing else for about 4 hours. The reason is to take less of the sedative in the midrin. Is there any drug that is like midrin without the sedative?

No, Midrin is an abortive. It is the sedative that helps abort the Migraine. Taking away the sedative no longer makes it abortive.  Migraine abortives include triptans, ergotamines like Migranal nasal spray and DHE-45 (injectable) and Isometheptene compounds like Midrin. This link will help clear things up Preventive, Abortive, and Rescue Medications.

    I hope this helps.
