Migraine is thought to be a genetic neurologic disease that effects each person a bit differently. For some women, hormones can trigger Migraine attack, while others never have issues with them. Others whom don't have Migraine before menopause may be hit with them afterwards. The opposite is also true. Menopause helps some women see a reduction in the Migraines. 

I'm glad to hear Zonegran is working for you. I've just started re-taking Zonegran to see if it will work again.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
