I am so excited to be able to share my story with you.  I have had headaches all my life and I am now 56.  I was only diagnosed with Migranes 5 years ago.  Went through a few medicines that did not work.  I am one of those people that a lot of medicines work opposite on me that what they are made for.  My doctor is wonderful and listens to me.  That is the most important thing.  When you know that you are not alone in your pain.  We did all the normal tests (that were negitive) so then after I had had one of my Migranes for 3 months we really got down to business.  This Migrane would go from classic to common and back to classic and back to common etc.   I finally made a decision that if I did not get any relief I was going to well you can guess.  I went to my doctor and he started me on a diet of no canned foods.  The list that I could eat was 1/2 page long.  The foods that I could not eat was 3 pages long.  Also he gave me Zomig and in 45 minutes my headache was GONE after three months of being in pain.  Turns out I am allergic to canned foods.  Anything that comes in a can.  And now after 5 years of trial and error I have found out that all perservatives are my triggers, along with smoke, smells, etc.  I should not be suprised I am allergic to every soap but one, every lotion, but one, shampoo but one.  All I know is that if it was not for my wonderful doctor listening to me and also diagnosing me with Fibromialgia which there is basically no treatment I could not live and work today.  Even though I know my triggers I still can not prevent Migranes but I can manage them better.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

Identifying and managing Migraine triggers is a very important part of Migraine disease. Current thinking is that Migraine is a genetic neurologic disease. Being able to track and prevent as many triggers as possible (for some people) can really help reduce their Migraine frequency.
