Migraines steal memories

By Hopefulmom Tuesday, March 30, 2010

She comes for every holiday,

Looking like she's been run over,

She tries to smile, but in her eyes,

We see what's taken over..

We see what's held her prisoner,

The dreadful beast again,

He wouldn't let her sleep at all

The suffering won't end.

She tries to join the merriment,

But cannot escape the doom

So quietly, she takes some meds

and slips into a darkened room,

The kids still call her,

The needs won't leave,

She begs for mercy,

And can't find peace,

She trudges out, and moves

About, in robotic motion see

She's hoping somehow magically

This migraine will let her be.

But he shows no mercy,

He never did, why should he start now?

She'll grope on through the day

And make it through somehow

Migraine, we will win, and

One day destroy your chains,

You've taken too many memories

And left us only pains.
