Yesterday I met my new primary care doctor who will have to refer me to any and all specialists. He took his time learning my history, used a computer notebook with other doctor's test results I had brought already scanned in to talk to me about. All and all I think it was a successful first visit....I think I will keep him!Laughing I also made an appointment to see a new neurologist for the 23rd of this month. I would also like to say that I had a very pleasant experience with a doctor today. I want to share it because there are so many bad experiences that many times we don't get to hear about the good. See, I needed a new neurologist because the one I have won't return my phone calls or refill my meds. I looked over the ones in my insurance plan. The first one I picked doesn't work with migraine patients, he specializes in spinal injurys. The second one....when I called the number the clerk gave me another number and said this doctor shares the office with them. The second number was the doctors voice mail. I left a short message about looking for a new doctor to treat migraines and the number to call me back if she could help me. An hour later this considerate doctor, not a nurse or appt clerk called me back. She unfortunately is currently on maternity leave but talked to me and gave me several names and numbers of other neurologists in the area I was looking. I congratulated her on her new baby and told her to enjoy her time off. I would love her to know that this simple phone call made my day, month, year!! I sound pathetic huh?? Anyway, I knew great doctors were still out there caring about the welfare of people. We could all use a little pick me up! Tongue out
