I am the mother of 5 children. My migraines would start suddenly after one of my children was born then when I got pregnant I wouldn't have them anymore. I have severe migraines during my cycle without fail. Besides that I would have a couple a month. I was on amytriptyline for 12 years-after my last one was born. My husband is retired military so we have never had a steady doctor/specialist to keep up with my migraines. Because of the severity of the migraines I have tried almost everything out there for pain management. About 3 years ago I got sick with a stomach bacteria. This increased my migraines. I was taken off the amytrip. and started down the road of try this, ok this doesn't work, try this.... For pain management, what a joke, either you are looked at as a drug seeker or the doctor you are seeing is part of a research project that pushes one type such as triptans so that is all they want you to take. Or they say, go to ER. The frustrations that go with getting help to deal with the pain of migraines is just made worse by employers who make it difficult to keep your job.
